I'd been wanting to visit the Lavender Fields in Haute Provence ever since seeing an evocative image by Daniel Kordan illustrating the sheer beauty of the Plateau. And I wasn't disappointed, the views, the smell, the colours and even the bees was simply an amazing experience. This image was taken at sunset of a lone tree in the distance and by some fortuitous miracle was captured without the ever present selfie brigade trampling across the field forever taken pictures of themselves - my god, they can be a pain the ass sometimes....
This was one of the most enjoyable evenings I spent in Provence. The stillness of the beauty was complimented by the fragrance that drifted across the Valensole Plateau on the summer breeze making it such memorable experience. Printed on my Canon Pro-1 Professional Printer, I have chosen Fotospeed Platinum Baryta paper to really bring out the colours in this early evening scene.
